Tour Details

Day 1: Arrival in Naro Moru or Embu

Day 2: Naro Moru Route Trek

Begin your ascent via the Naro Moru Route, the most popular option for climbing Mount Kenya. Traverse through diverse landscapes, including bamboo forests and high-altitude equatorial environments. Experience the thrill of the ‘Vertical Bog’ and marvel at the stunning scenery as you make your way to Mackinders Camp.

Day 3: Acclimatization and Austrian Hut

Take a day to acclimatize at Mackinders Camp and explore the surrounding area. Then, embark on an early start to reach the Austrian Hut, located at the base of the Lewis Glacier. Enjoy breathtaking views and prepare for the summit push.

Day 4: Summit Day

Rise early for the summit push, ascending over easy paths to the head of the valley before tackling the steep zigzag route to the summit ridge. Experience the exhilarating Via Ferrata and feel the adrenaline rush of scrambling the rocky peaks. Reach Point Lenana, the third highest peak on Mount Kenya, and revel in the accomplishment.

Day 5: Descent via Chogoria Route

Descend via the Chogoria Route, known for its stunning scenery and longer trekking options. Traverse through the Gorges Valley and past the Lewis Glacier, exploring lakes and tarns along the way. Camp overnight and soak in the tranquility of the wilderness.

Day 6: Return to Naro Moru or Embu

Complete your descent and return to Naro Moru or Embu, marking the end of your Mount Kenya adventure. Reflect on the unforgettable experiences and stunning landscapes encountered along the journey.

Included: Transfer to and from Naro Moru or Embu, service of an experienced guide, park entries, 3 meals a day, accommodation in huts, 1 porter each, and 2 liters of water per day.

Best Times to Trek: January to March and June to October offer optimal climbing conditions, but Mount Kenya can be trekked year-round. Avoid climbing during the rainy seasons in April, May, and November, although recent climate changes make predictions challenging.
